Lucknow, 3 November: The Management Institutes affiliated to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has witnessed poor response from students with thin admissions recorded.
The two-stage PG counseling process of Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counseling (UPTech) is now over, but only 2551 seats out of 37,728 MBA-MCA seats have been filled. If this scenario continues, 80 percent of the seats in these two courses will go abegging.
There are more than 750 colleges affiliated to AKTU across the state. Out of these, 350 colleges offer MBA and MCA studies. Of these, there are 31,883 seats for MBA and 5,845 for MCA. For this, counseling is being done for admission by registering the students of CUET PG. So far, only 2,551 students have taken admission in the counseling held in two phases.
In fact, only 3,987 students have done the registration. In such a situation, 80 percent seats in these colleges are set to remain vacant. The third phase counseling for admission to PG courses will start from November 3.
Admissions to MBA in affiliated colleges are very low in the first phase on the university campus. However, there is great enthusiasm among the students for the Department of Management Studies started on the AKTU campus this year.
There have been 80 applications for admission to 60 seats. At the same time, admission has also been done in 28 seats. Whereas in the already running AKTU’s UPID Noida, only 20 out of 60 seats have been admitted. On the other hand, 60 seats have been filled in IET.
AKTU has also decided to start BPharm studies on its campus from the current academic session 2022-23. Under this, separate registrations were done during the second phase of admission counseling for admission to 100 seats here. According to the university, 394 applications have been received for these seats. 228 students have given their first preference for choice filling admission here. The seat allotment will be issued soon.
