
Aliganj Fire: CM Yogi announces ₹5 lakh for families of deceased, ₹50,000 for injured, also cancels all Tuesday programs
Lucknow, June 22: After canceling his Aligarh visit on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rushed to Lucknow’s Aliganj fire site, inspected the charred coaching center and nearby rooftop, and received a detailed briefing from officials; expressing deep grief over the children’s deaths, he ordered strict action against those responsible and announced ₹5 lakh compensation for each bereaved family and ₹50,000 for the injured.
The Chief Minister went directly from the scene to King George’s Medical University (KGMU). He met with the injured children admitted there and gathered complete information about the cause of the fire and the incident. The Chief Minister also encouraged the families of the injured and assured them of all possible assistance. He also directed the KGMU administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured. Vice Chancellor Professor Sonia Nityanand provided the Chief Minister with complete information about the injured’s treatment.
Upon arriving at KGMU, he also met with the families of the deceased. Expressing grief over the incident, the Chief Minister consoled the families and wiped their tears. The Chief Minister said, “While we cannot bring back anyone’s life, we assure you that the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances. The government stands with the families.”
While visiting the incident site and KGMU, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, BJP State General Secretary (Organization) Dharampal, MLA Neeraj Bora, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, Additional Chief Secretary (Medical) Amit Kumar Ghosh, DG (Fire Service) Sujit Pandey, Lucknow Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant and District Magistrate Vishakh G etc.
Chief Minister Yogi cancels all official programs scheduled for Tuesday
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has canceled all his official programs scheduled for June 23 following the Lucknow fire. He was scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 143 development projects worth ₹548 crore in Hathras on Tuesday. He was then scheduled to hold a review meeting on development works and law and order in Agra.
It is noteworthy that at the time of the fire, Chief Minister Yogi was addressing a ceremony to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects in Aligarh. Upon learning of the incident, he canceled his visit and immediately left for Lucknow. He went directly to the site of the fire in Aliganj, where he gathered complete information about the incident. He then visited KGMU and met with the injured children and their families.
It is noteworthy that on Monday afternoon, several children died and many were injured in a fire at a coaching center in Aliganj, Lucknow.
