
Gujarat man found dead in Lucknow hotel
Lucknow, August 11: A man was found dead after allegedly hanging himself in a hotel room in the Gomti Nagar police station area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with police reaching the scene upon receiving information and launching an investigation into the incident, informed the police.
The Gomti Nagar police station head Brijesh Chandra Tiwari said on Tuesday that the young man hanged himself in room number 301 of a hotel in Vivek Khand. Police arrived on the information of the hotel manager, took possession of the body, and the forensic team investigated the scene and collected evidence.
The police interogatted hotel staff and identified the deceased as Amit Sharma, a resident of Gujarat, based on the address on his Aadhaar card. The deceased’s wife was contacted via mobile number, who stated that she currently lives in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with her family and children. Family members have been informed and are on their way to the scene.
The station in-charge stated that the forensic team seized a Vivo Android mobile phone, a laptop, a pen, the green rope used for the noose, and a black bag containing clothes and other items from the scene. The body was sent for post-mortem examination.
