Paswan’s journey symbolized social justice, says Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow, October 8: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday attended the death anniversary ceremony of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, held at a hotel in Sushant Golf City. Addressing the condolence meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 50 years ago, a young leader emerged in the country’s politics, who over time became a strong voice for the Dalits, the exploited, and the deprived.
He said that the people of Bihar honored him greatly and elected him to the Indian Parliament with a record-breaking majority of votes in the country. Ram Vilas Paswan dedicated his life to awakening social consciousness through Indian politics and building the India of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s dreams.
Recalling his long tenure in Parliament with the late Paswan, the Chief Minister said, “I had the privilege of working with him in Parliament. He had a deep reverence and respect for India’s eternal traditions.”
Chief Minister Yogi said that Ram Vilas Paswan championed social causes without any discrimination. Whether it was in the government of the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee or the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a Union Minister, his demeanor was always extremely easygoing, affectionate, and full of goodwill, which touched everyone’s heart.
Chief Minister said that while Ram Vilas Paswan’s physical absence is a major concern today, it is deeply satisfying that his son and current Union Minister, Chirag Paswan, is dedicatedly carrying forward his father’s unfinished mission. Today, as a Union Minister, Chirag Paswan is continuously working as a strong voice for the deprived and society on every platform.
