
PM Modi invites French investors to partner in India’s growth
Nice (France), June 14: As part of the ‘Year of Innovation’ being celebrated between India and France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated the ‘India Innovates’ program on Sunday. Prior to the event, Prime Minister Modi also met with leading global investors and venture capital representatives and discussed investment opportunities in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared details of the program and meetings in a series of posts on the social media platform ‘X’. Expressing his gratitude to President Macron, he wrote, “My friend President Macron, it was a great pleasure to meet you again in Nice. I thank you for participating in the ‘India Innovates’ program as our two countries jointly celebrate the ‘Year of Innovation’.”
In another post, the Prime Minister described the meeting with investors as extremely enriching and visionary. He wrote that the discussions at “India Innovates 2026” were very informative. He discussed with investors and venture capital leaders the immense opportunities India offers in innovation, technology, manufacturing, and emerging sectors.
Describing India as an attractive investment destination, the Prime Minister wrote, “India’s growth journey is driven by the country’s talent, scale, stability, and continuous reforms. These qualities make India a preferred and attractive destination for global investment and innovation.” The Prime Minister also shared this message in French on “X.”
The three-day event is being attended by 120 leading Indian startups and over 20 premier institutions, showcasing India’s deep-tech capabilities across 13 key technology pillars of global importance. Over 350 top investors and venture capitalists from across the world participated in the event. The Prime Minister also interacted directly with startups and innovators from cutting-edge sectors such as quantum computing, semiconductors, biotechnology, defense, space, and clean energy.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the International Solar Alliance (ISA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and India-France joint initiatives promoting security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The Prime Minister emphasized the transformative potential of satellite technology for rural development, advanced manufacturing for sustainable living, and green hydrogen and electric mobility for clean growth.
The Prime Minister called on entrepreneurs and investors present at the event to develop technologies that are reliable, inclusive, and human-centric. He specifically emphasized that startups should be evaluated not just by their market valuation but also by their positive impact on humanity. He invited the global community to join hands with India to co-create this new chapter of global innovation.
