Lucknow, June 28: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, calling fire safety a top priority, directed that the status of fire NOCs be immediately verified in all government and private medical colleges, medical institutions, district-level women’s and men’s hospitals, and hotels in the state. Immediate notices should be issued to institutions whose fire NOCs are about to expire or who do not yet have a valid fire NOC.
He said that any compromise with public safety will not be acceptable. All District Magistrates should hold meetings with the concerned departments in their respective districts to ensure strict compliance with fire safety standards.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was reviewing the progress of various public welfare projects in the state, including expressways, industrial infrastructure, rural livelihoods, energy, agriculture, data centers, and EV charging, at a meeting of the State Transformation Commission on Sunday.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that each project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe and in a quality manner. He stated that unnecessary delays in development work would not be acceptable under any circumstances.
The meeting reviewed in detail the compliance with the instructions given in the last Chief Minister’s review meeting. It was reported that of the 1339.04 hectares of land required for the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, 1135.57 hectares, or 84.80 percent, of the land has been made available. For the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway, 315.73 hectares (49.05 percent) of the land allocated for the project has been made available, while for the Jhansi Link Expressway, 654.77 hectares (1539.19 hectares) of the project has been made available, and for the Jewar Link Expressway, 266.82 hectares (895.34 hectares) of the project has been made available.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress of land acquisition for the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, the Chief Minister directed the tender process for construction work to be expedited. He stated that the new expressways will become a new hub for industrial development in Uttar Pradesh, and therefore, adequate land should be available for the development of industrial areas along these lines in a timely manner. The
Yogi directed the concerned District Magistrates to expedite the land acquisition process for other projects, including the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal, Jhansi, and Jewar Link Expressways. The progress and land acquisition status of Meerut-Haridwar, Vindhya, Vindhya-Purvanchal and Noida-Jewar Link Expressway were also reviewed in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the Multi-Modal Logistics Hub and Multi-Modal Transport Hub in Greater Noida. It was reported that most of the land for the Multi-Modal Logistics Hub has been made available, and the remaining land acquisition and developer selection processes are underway. The Chief Minister directed that the remaining project work be completed in a timely manner.
Reviewing the proposed Model Building Bylaws for Industrial Development Authorities, the Chief Minister directed that the entire process be completed within the next 15 days after reviewing the objections received, and that a revised proposal be presented to the Cabinet. The meeting also reviewed the progress of selection and recruitment for vacant positions at the state, district, and development block levels under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, and directed that the recruitment process be completed in a timely manner.
The Chief Minister stated that given the increasing number of electric vehicles in the state, the establishment of EV charging stations is the need of the hour. He emphasized that there is vast potential for private investment in this sector, and that the private sector is eager to invest. Rapid expansion of charging infrastructure should be ensured by simplifying the necessary permissions and procedures. The meeting was informed that charging stations are being installed at selected sites under the Prime Minister’s e-Driver Scheme.
The progress of establishing data center clusters was also reviewed. The Chief Minister stated that data center projects should be rapidly advanced to make Uttar Pradesh a leading state in the field of digital infrastructure. The removal and separation of high-tension power lines passing through sewer lines and manholes in the Lucknow Municipal Corporation area was also reviewed, and instructions were given to complete them on a priority basis.
During the review of the Energy Department, the Chief Minister directed the Divisional Commissioners of Meerut, Agra, and Saharanpur to determine feeder-wise accountability for line losses. He said that wherever there are complaints of power theft, strict action should be taken through special campaigns. Uninterrupted and quality power supply to honest consumers must be ensured at all costs.
