Rahul Gandhi demands Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over NEET-UG paper leakgate

New Delhi, May 17: The political controversy surrounding the NEET exam paper leak continues to deepen after the LoP Rahul Gandhi has targeted the central government and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on this issue, demanding their resignation.

Rahul Gandhi stated on the social media platform X on Sunday that the NEET exam paper leak occurred in both 2024 and 2026, but the Education Minister did not resign. He alleged that despite the formation of investigative agencies and committees each time, the examination system remains unimproved. Rahul Gandhi stated that the NEET exam paper leak occurred in 2024, but the exam was not cancelled, the minister did not resign, and the investigation was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The exam paper leak occurred in 2026 as well, forcing the exam to be cancelled. The CBI is investigating again, and another committee is being formed.

He questioned why the government is silent on the issue of repeated question paper leaks, and why the Education Minister, who has consistently failed, is not being removed from his post.

It is noteworthy that the NEET-UG 2026 exam was held on May 3rd. After allegations of question paper leaks surfaced before the exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the exam. Following this, the central government handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The investigating agency has so far arrested several accused in the case. The investigation is looking into allegations of question paper leaks, extortion from candidates, and providing questions through special coaching sessions.

The National Testing Agency stated that new dates for the re-examination and admit card information will be released through official channels soon. According to the agency, previously completed registrations, candidate details, and selected examination centers will remain valid for the re-examination.
