DM Mahoba orders salary withheld of 30+ officials after complaint negligence
Mahoba, June 16: Negligence in addressing public grievances has pushed dissatisfied feedback on the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal to 50 percent, dropping Mahoba district’s ranking 15 places to 67th, prompting District Magistrate Gazal Bhardwaj to take strict action by ordering the withholding of salaries of over 30 district-level officials, sparking panic in the administration.
The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Kunwar Pankaj stated on Tuesday that the district’s ranking has dropped to 67th. In a review meeting, the primary reason for the drop in rankings was dissatisfied feedback. The district’s dissatisfied feedback rate has risen from 40% to 60%. Most officers resolved complaints without the complainant’s satisfaction. District Magistrate Gazal Bhardwaj has issued orders to withhold the salaries of more than 30 officers who received more than 50% dissatisfied feedback.
The District Magistrate has ordered the suspension of salaries of over 30 district-level officials, including Executive Engineers of the Jal Nigam (Rural and Urban), LDMs, Deputy Directors of Agriculture, Additional Chief Officers, Mines Inspectors, Settlement Officers of Consolidation, Deputy Commissioners of Industries, Excise Officers, Labor Officers, ARMs of Roadways, District School Inspectors, District Social Welfare Officers, Executive Engineers of Electricity (Urban/Rural) and Project Officers of DUDA, Executive Engineers of the Jal Nigam, CMS of the District Hospital and District Women’s Hospital, Executive Engineers of Irrigation, Executive Engineers of PWD (Construction Division/Provincial Division), Backward Classes Welfare Officers, Chief Medical Officers, CVOs, Assistant Engineers of Minor Irrigation, as well as Tehsildars, Sub-Registrars, BDOs, and SDOs.
The ADM stated that the District Magistrate has also issued strict instructions to conduct on-site inspections of complaints and attach signatures and photographs of witnesses to the disposal report. No case will be considered closed without concrete evidence and the satisfaction of the complainant.
