CM Yogi extends heartfelt greetings on Nag Panchami
Lucknow, August 16: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami.
In his congratulatory message on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that Indian culture has a rich and ancient tradition of establishing intimate and sensitive relationships with nature, animals, and the entire inanimate world. Nag Panchami is a festival that symbolizes this cultural consciousness, respect for nature, and compassion for all living beings.
The Chief Minister said that snakes hold special spiritual and cultural significance in the Indian Sanatan tradition. In our religious scriptures, snakes are revered in various forms. Lord Vishnu sits on the bed of Sheshnag, while the serpent holds a special place in Lord Shiva’s ornaments. Snakes are also associated with power, awakened consciousness, protection, and spiritual practice. The worship of Lord Shiva and the festival of Nag Panchami in the month of Sawan further enhance this spiritual tradition.
Chief Minister Yogi said that Nag Panchami is not only a festival of religious faith, but also an opportunity to strengthen our folk culture and the spirit of coexistence with nature. Indian philosophy has always preached balance between humans and nature, and compassion and protection for all living beings. Such festivals connect our new generation with our rich cultural heritage and inspire responsible behavior towards the environment.
The Chief Minister said that wrestling and other sports competitions are traditionally organized in many areas of the state on the occasion of Nag Panchami. These events not only keep our folk traditions, rural life, and community participation alive, but also encourage sportsmanship, discipline, physical ability, and a spirit of healthy competition among the youth.
