New Delhi, May 29: A meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
After the meeting, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi told the media that the party would follow the same strategy in Madhya Pradesh as in Karnataka. He claimed that the party would win 150 seats in the elections to be held in December.
The meeting chaired by Mallikarjun Kharge was attended by the central leadership and state leaders including Rahul Gandhi, organisation general secretary KC Venugopal and former chief minister Kamal Nath, senior leader Digvijaya Singh.
After this meeting, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that our internal assessment was that we would get 136 seats in Karnataka. Similarly, we are hopeful of getting 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh. He said that what was done in Karnataka would be repeated in Madhya Pradesh.
On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi did not respond to the question of who would be the chief ministerial face in Madhya Pradesh.
On the other hand, party leader Kamal Nath said that a very important meeting has just taken place. In this, the strategy of elections and how to safeguard the future of Madhya Pradesh was discussed.
