Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’ records weak run, misses ₹ 50 cr milestone
Yashraj Film’s spy universe film ‘Alpha’ failed to even touch the ₹ 50 crore mark in its first week. The first week of the YRF spy universe film ‘Alpha’, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, failed to live up to expectations at the box office. Despite a strong opening weekend, the film’s earnings steadily declined from Monday onwards. According to preliminary data from Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹2.60 crore on the seventh day of its release, bringing its first-week domestic total to ₹47.55 crore.
The film had a strong opening weekend, earning ₹34 crore, but viewership declined sharply during the weekdays. As a result, the film failed to even cross the ₹50 crore mark in its first week. Initially, ‘Alpha’ was being compared to Alia Bhatt’s successful films ‘Raazi’ and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, but now it has fallen behind them in terms of earnings.
Made on a budget of around Rs 150 crore, ‘Alpha’ is now facing a new challenge due to the release of Ajay Devgn’s ‘Dhamaal 4’, which is likely to affect the film’s shows. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film also has special cameos by Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, but despite the strong star cast, the film received mixed to negative reviews from critics, the effect of which is clearly visible on its box office performance
