Delhi HC receives bomb threat email, declared hoax after probe
New Delhi, August 14: Just a day before Independence Day on Friday, the Delhi High Court received a bomb threat. The bomb threat was received via email. However, after investigation, the threat turned out to be a hoax.
In the morning, the High Court received an email threatening a 30 MB blast in the court at 2:11 pm. Meanwhile, a bomb blast threat was issued in the district courts at 3:11 pm. The email stated, “Delhi will become Khalistan.”
Officials of the Delhi High Court Bar Association say the police are making every effort to deal with the situation. Kunal Malhotra, Joint Secretary of the High Court Bar Association, stated that the bomb threat was false and all precautionary measures have been taken.
The High Court had previously received a bomb threat on September 12, 2025. On August 17, 2017, a call was also made to Delhi Police Headquarters threatening to blow up the High Court.
