
Strong opening for ‘Peddi’ as moviegoers flock to theatres
The highly anticipated sports drama film “Peddi,” starring Ram Charan, has had a strong opening at the box office upon its theatrical release. Released on June 4, the film received overwhelming support from audiences, a result evident in its opening day earnings. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film has earned over ₹50 crore at the domestic box office, establishing itself among the highest-grossing films of the year. Globally, the film has already surpassed the ₹100 crore mark.
According to trade reports, the film’s premiere shows, held on June 3, earned approximately ₹18.50 crore. Subsequently, on its first day of release, the film recorded a net collection of ₹51 crore in India. This brings the total net collection, including premiere and opening day earnings, to ₹69.50 crore. After a strong opening, the film is now eyeing to break into the ₹100 crore club in its opening day.
After “RRR,” “Peddi” has emerged as the second-highest global opener of Ram Charan’s career. The film grossed approximately ₹112.49 crore worldwide on its first day, surpassing the opening earnings of several major films. The film also stars Jhanvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, Boman Irani, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. Based on a story of sports, struggle, and passion, “Peddi” is receiving positive reviews from both audiences and critics.
