
CM Yogi highlights job fairs and campus recruitment drive for young aspirants
Lucknow, July 15: On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day 2026, a state-level program was organized by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Wednesday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched several schemes related to skill development, employment, entrepreneurship, and industry.
Addressing the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today, employment fairs are being held for youth in the state and campus selection of youth is taking place. He said that youth are the strength of Uttar Pradesh. Today, Uttar Pradesh has become the fastest growing economy in the country.
The Chief Minister said that before 2017, the then government had become a bad omen for the state. There was an atmosphere of insecurity in the state. Earlier, daughters and businesswomen were not safe. Government jobs were monopolized by one family. Nothing could be done without money. Uttar Pradesh gradually became a sick state. Uttar Pradesh, blessed by nature and God, was still a sick state. Without security, investment wouldn’t have come to the state. Youth were worried about their future. Jobs were scarce. Uncles and nephews were extorting money. Youth faced an identity crisis.
Yogi said that a government that neglects youth and forces artisans to migrate should have no place. Recommendations are no longer required for jobs. Youth are no longer forced to migrate.
Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, stated that youth in Uttar Pradesh are finding employment and self-employment through skills. He said that the Yogi government has trained 2 million youth in the last nine years, of which 1.25 million have found employment. He stated that the target is to train 1 million youth in 2026-27.
The minister stated that “Project Praveen” provides skills training to schoolchildren, and a special employment campaign is being launched for youth from poor families, women, and the disabled under the “Zero Poverty” scheme. Minister of State Kapil Dev Agarwal, MLC Mukesh Sharma, MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora, and several officials and officers were present at the event.
